This Privacy Policy applies only to Taboo! Social. Information We Collect
We collect information that you voluntarily provide when creating or using your account, including but not limited to:
- Your display name, username, or Second Life avatar name.
- Your email address.
- Your date of birth, age, or age-verification information.
- Profile information, interests, friendship preferences, relationship preferences, matchmaking preferences, groups you join, events you participate in, and other information you choose to provide.
- Photographs, profile pictures, public albums, private albums, password-protected albums, videos, blogs, Questions, Confessions, comments, contest entries, newsfeed posts, and other content you choose to upload, including adult-oriented content.
- Private messages, comments, likes, virtual gifts, friend requests, matches, follows, and other interactions made through the platform.
- Support requests, reports, appeals, abuse reports, and other communications you send to the Taboo! Social administration team.
- Payment information when purchasing VIP Memberships, Credits, affiliate upgrades, or other paid services. Payments are securely processed through third-party payment providers or the Second Life platform. Taboo! Social does not store your complete payment card information.
We also automatically collect certain technical information, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, device information, cookies, session identifiers, referral pages, login activity, and general usage statistics. This information helps us improve platform performance, maintain security, prevent abuse, investigate suspicious activity, and enhance your overall experience.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create, maintain, personalize, and secure your account.
- Provide social networking, community, friendship, dating, matchmaking, messaging, groups, events, contests, photo sharing, blogs, and other platform features.
- Display your profile and content according to the privacy settings you select.
- Provide public, private, and password-protected photo album features.
- Deliver notifications, private messages, gifts, friend requests, match information, event invitations, group invitations, and other community features.
- Respond to support requests, investigate reported issues, and provide customer support.
- Process VIP Memberships, Credits, affiliate commissions, and other purchases.
- Improve platform functionality, security, reliability, performance, and user experience.
- Detect and prevent fraud, spam, harassment, scams, unauthorized access, account abuse, and other prohibited activity.
- Enforce our Terms of Service and Community Standards.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
Private Communications
Private messages are stored and transmitted to provide the messaging features of Taboo! Social. We respect the privacy of member communications; however, we reserve the right to review message content when reasonably necessary to investigate reports of harassment, spam, fraud, illegal activity, security incidents, threats, or violations of our Community Standards or Terms of Service.
Access to private communications is limited to authorized personnel and is permitted only when reasonably necessary for platform operation, security, moderation, legal compliance, or the investigation of reported issues.
Private messages should not be considered a substitute for secure or encrypted communications. Members should never use Taboo! Social to share passwords, payment information, government identification, or other highly sensitive personal information.
Photos, Albums, and Password-Protected Content
Taboo! Social allows members to create public, private, and password-protected photo albums. You are responsible for selecting the privacy settings that apply to your content and for deciding who receives access to password-protected albums.
Password-protected albums are designed to limit access to members who have been given the password by the album owner. While this provides an additional layer of privacy, no online access-control system can guarantee that authorized viewers will not copy, download, screenshot, record, or redistribute content after viewing it.
Only share private content with people you know and trust. Taboo! Social cannot control what another member does with content once they have been granted access by you.
Taboo! Social will not intentionally make password-protected content publicly accessible. However, authorized administrators may access protected content when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse reports, technical issues, illegal activity, security incidents, or violations of our Terms of Service or Community Standards.
Adult-Oriented Content
Taboo! Social is an adult-oriented social network intended exclusively for individuals who are at least 18 years of age. Members may upload and share adult-oriented or NSFW content where permitted by our Terms of Service and Community Standards.
Unlike many social platforms, Taboo! Social does not prohibit content solely because it is sexual, suggestive, provocative, or intended for mature audiences. We believe adults should be free to express themselves responsibly without unnecessary censorship.
This freedom of expression does not permit illegal or abusive content. Content involving minors, non-consensual intimate material, exploitation, harassment, threats, impersonation, stolen content, or other prohibited material is strictly forbidden and may result in immediate account suspension or permanent removal.
Members are solely responsible for ensuring they have the legal right, ownership, and consent necessary to upload any content they share on the platform.
Automated Systems
Certain information and content may be analyzed using automated systems to assist with spam detection, fraud prevention, account security, abuse prevention, content moderation, and enforcement of our Community Standards.
Automated systems are intended to assist administrators and moderators and do not necessarily make final moderation decisions without human review where appropriate.

Taboo! Social uses cookies and similar technologies to maintain your login session, remember your preferences, improve platform functionality, enhance security, help prevent fraudulent activity, analyze platform performance, and improve your overall experience.

We do not sell your personal information.

Information you choose to make public—including your profile, public photographs, public albums, interests, blogs, comments, Questions, Confessions, contest entries, group activity, event participation, newsfeed posts, and other publicly shared content—may be viewed by other members according to your privacy settings.
Public content may also be copied, downloaded, shared, quoted, photographed, or redistributed by other members or visitors where permitted by your privacy settings. Please use good judgment when deciding what information or content to make public.
Your Privacy Controls
Taboo! Social is designed to give you meaningful control over your privacy. Depending on the feature, you may choose to make your content public, visible only to friends, visible only to selected members, completely private, or protected by a password.
You are responsible for reviewing your privacy settings and selecting the level of visibility appropriate for your content. While we provide privacy tools, you should remember that any information intentionally shared with another person may ultimately be copied or redistributed by that person.
Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, misuse, or destruction.
Despite these safeguards, no website, online service, network, or method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Accordingly, Taboo! Social cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.
Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account remains active or as reasonably necessary to provide our services, maintain platform security, comply with legal obligations, investigate abuse, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Certain information may remain in backups, transaction records, moderation records, logs, or archived systems for a limited period following account or content deletion where reasonably necessary for operational, legal, or security purposes.

You may edit your profile, update your account information, adjust your privacy settings, manage the visibility of your content, modify album passwords, or delete your account at any time through the platform.
Subject to applicable law, you may also request access to, correction of, restriction of, or deletion of your personal information. Certain information may be retained where required by law or for legitimate business purposes, including fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, financial records, or platform security.
Children’s Privacy
Taboo! Social is intended exclusively for adults who are at least 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
Any account believed to belong to a person under the age of 18 may be suspended or permanently removed upon discovery. Content depicting or involving minors in a sexual, exploitative, or otherwise prohibited manner is strictly forbidden and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
Third-Party Services
Taboo! Social is designed for Second Life residents but is independently operated and is not owned, operated, sponsored, endorsed, or officially affiliated with Linden Lab or Second Life.
The platform may include links to third-party websites, payment processors, social media platforms, Discord servers, or other external services. Those services operate under their own terms, privacy policies, and business practices. Taboo! Social is not responsible for the privacy, security, availability, or content of third-party services.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, security practices, or business operations.
Any changes become effective upon posting the updated Privacy Policy unless a later effective date is specifically stated. Your continued use of Taboo! Social following the publication of changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
