Taboo! Dating Community Standards
Taboo! Dating was built by Second Life residents, for Second Life residents. We believe adults should be free to meet, express themselves, explore relationships, and build connections without unnecessary censorship.
These Community Standards exist to protect the community, not to restrict lawful adult expression. We expect members to act like adults, respect boundaries, and take responsibility for their own behavior.
1. Adults Only
Taboo! Dating is strictly for adults age 18 or older. No exceptions.
Ageplay, child avatars, images of children, sexualized depictions of minors, or any suggestion that a member is underage are strictly prohibited. If a member is found to be underage, legal action may be taken.
If an account is reported as potentially underage, the account may be suspended until acceptable age verification is provided.
2. Adult Content
Adult content is allowed on Taboo! Dating, including adult language, explicit profile text, adult images, erotic content, BDSM, fetishes, and consenting adult roleplay.
The line is simple: lawful adult expression is allowed. Illegal content, hate content, exploitation, coercion, or violations of these standards are not.
3. Respect & Consent
Consent matters. Respect other members’ boundaries. If someone says no, leaves, blocks you, or asks you to stop, stop.
Harassment, stalking, threats, coercion, intimidation, or attempts to bypass a block may result in account action.
Staff should not be dragged into personal relationship drama. If someone is harassing you on Taboo! Dating, tell them to stop, block them if needed, and report the issue to staff.
4. Hate Speech & Abuse
Racism, hate speech, threats, or content promoting violence or discrimination against people based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, age, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, or similar protected traits is not allowed.
5. Illegal Content & Conduct
Taboo! Dating does not allow illegal activity, trafficking, non-consensual sexual content, terrorism, criminal solicitation, fraud, or content involving minors.
Illegal content may result in immediate removal, permanent ban, and referral to appropriate authorities.
6. Privacy
Do not post or share private information belonging to yourself or anyone else. This includes passwords, financial information, real-life addresses, phone numbers, private messages, identification documents, or other personal information.
Doxxing, blackmail, threats to expose someone, or sharing private conversations without permission may result in account action.
7. Spam, Advertising & Promotion
Clubs, creators, performers, DJs, photographers, venues, and businesses are welcome as part of the community.
You may promote yourself, your club, your work, or your events on your own profile and feed. Events may also be promoted through event features when available.
What is not allowed is spam. Do not mass-message members, flood IMs with advertisements, or create an account solely to advertise without participating in the community.
Accounts used primarily for spam, solicitation, or advertising may be removed without refund.
8. Selling, Solicitation & Scams
Do not use Taboo! Dating to scam members, request financial account information, commit fraud, or pressure members for money.
Commercial sexual services, prostitution, trafficking, coercion, or non-consensual sexual conduct are prohibited.
9. Social Profiles & External Links
Taboo! Dating provides dedicated profile fields for supported social platforms. At the time of writing, supported fields may include Primfeed, Discord, Flickr, and SoundCloud.
Additional platforms may be added in the future based on community request.
Links to OnlyFans, porn sites, competing dating services, referral spam, or similar external destinations may be removed.
10. Copyright & Trademarks
You are responsible for the content you upload. If you use copyrighted or trademarked material, you accept responsibility for any consequences.
Taboo! Dating generally does not police copyrighted content proactively, but valid complaints from rights holders may result in content removal or account action.
11. Multiple Accounts
Each account is linked to one Second Life avatar. One account per avatar.
12. Inactive Accounts
Accounts that remain inactive for an extended period may be removed at our discretion.
13. Reporting
To report a profile, open the member’s profile, click the More button, choose Flag, and select the reason: Spam, Offensive, or Illegal.
If more detail is needed, you may send a message to Wolverat on Taboo! Dating.
14. Enforcement
Depending on the situation, staff may issue a warning, remove content, suspend an account, or permanently ban an account.
Accounts terminated for violations of these Community Standards are not entitled to refunds.
15. Appeals
Appeals may be sent to Zanidu Titian in Second Life.

How do I report someone?
If you encounter a member who is violating the Community Standards, please let us know. Reports help us keep Taboo! Dating a safe and enjoyable place for everyone.
To report a member:
- Open the member’s profile.
- Click the More button.
- Select Flag.
- Choose the reason for your report:
- Spam
- Offensive Content
- Illegal Content
If you’d like to provide additional information, screenshots, or explain the situation in more detail, you can send a private message to Wolverat through Taboo! Dating.
Every report is reviewed by a member of our staff. Depending on the situation, we may issue a warning, remove content, suspend the account, or permanently ban the member.
Please use the reporting system responsibly. Reports should only be submitted for genuine violations of our Community Standards. Filing false or malicious reports to harass other members may itself result in moderation of your account.
How do I block someone?
Sometimes personalities simply don’t click, and that’s perfectly okay. If you’d prefer not to interact with another member, you can block them at any time.
To block a member:
- Open the member’s profile.
- Click the More button next to their profile picture.
- Select Block.
- You’ll be asked to confirm that you want to block the member. Click Block to confirm.
Blocked members are not notified that they’ve been blocked.
If you change your mind later, you can unblock them at any time:
- Open your own profile.
- Click More.
- Select Unblock.
Please remember: Blocking someone is a personal choice and doesn’t necessarily mean they’ve violated the Community Standards. If a member is harassing you, threatening you, spamming you, or otherwise violating our Community Standards, please report them as well so our staff can investigate.
Why don’t I have any matches?
Finding the right people takes time. Some members make connections immediately, while others take a little longer. Don’t get discouraged!
If you’re not getting many matches, here are a few things you can do to improve your chances:
- Complete your profile with honest information.
- Upload several clear photos that show your personality.
- Take time to fill out your interests and relationship preferences.
- Review your Match Preferences to make sure you’re not unintentionally filtering out people you would otherwise enjoy meeting.
- Be active! Members who log in regularly, participate in the community, write blogs, comment on posts, and interact with others naturally become more visible.
Remember that Taboo! Dating is more than just a dating app—it’s an adult social community. Many great friendships and relationships begin through conversations in blogs, comments, confessions, photos, groups, and community activities before they ever become a match.
The best advice? Be yourself. Complete your profile honestly, participate in the community, and let people get to know the real you. Genuine connections almost always last longer than ones built around trying to impress everyone.
How do I send someone a message?
There are several ways to start a conversation with another member on Taboo! Dating.
You can send a message by:
- Clicking the Chat icon on a member’s profile picture.
- Opening the member’s profile, clicking the More button next to their profile picture, and selecting Send Message.
- Opening an existing conversation from your Messages page.
- Messaging a member after you’ve both matched in the Would You? section.
Taboo! Dating is both a dating platform and an adult social community, so there are several ways to meet and communicate with other members.
Please remember: Be respectful when contacting other members. Not everyone is looking for the same type of relationship, and “No” is always a complete answer. Members who repeatedly harass others may have their accounts suspended or permanently removed.
Why do I need Credits or a Membership to send messages?
To help reduce spam and encourage meaningful conversations, Taboo! Dating requires members to have either Credits or an active Membership before starting a new conversation.
Once your profile has been completed, you can start new conversations by:
- Using Credits that you’ve earned by participating in the community.
- Becoming a Member, which removes the need to spend credits when starting conversations.
Credits are earned simply by being an active member of the community. Logging in each day, completing your profile, uploading photos, participating in Speed Dating, answering questions, posting Confessions, and many other community activities all reward credits.
Some actions, such as starting conversations or using premium features, consume credits. Don’t worry—you’ll always know the cost of an action before your credits are deducted.
If you enjoy using Taboo! Dating regularly, a Membership is often the best value, removing many credit requirements while helping support the continued development of the community.
Tip: If you’re ever running low on credits, simply participate in the community! The more active you are, the more opportunities you’ll have to earn additional credits.
